The Problem
Each year, young people leave care and are expected to face adulthood alone.
By 18, they’re handed a key , but not the tools to succeed.
- Many are placed in inappropriate B&Bs or rushed into independence
- Isolation, instability, and unemployment follow
- Local authorities are left managing crises instead of building futures
Our Response
Avalon Youth Futures was created to fill the gap between care and unsupported living.
We Offer:
- Warm, shared homes in Corby, Kettering and Northampton
- Weekly mentoring from trusted adults
- Life skills coaching (budgeting, cooking, tenancy prep)
- Support navigating employment, education, or training
- A stable, non-institutional environment where young adults can grow
- We’re not a hostel.
- We’re not just a house.
- We’re a bridge , from survival to self-sufficiency.
Who We Support
We welcome referrals for:
Young people aged 18–25 who are leaving care
Low to medium support needs
Not suitable for regulated or crisis placements
Ready for independence , but not yet ready to walk alone
Our Homes
Each Avalon Youth Futures home provides:
- 3 private bedrooms
- Communal kitchen, living space, and Wi-Fi
- Move-in starter packs
- House agreements, routines, and support structures
- Mentoring 1–2x per week, with 24/7 escalation protocols
Our homes are not monitored 24/7, but are designed to offer structure, consistency, and connection.

We’ve consulted closely with social workers, commissioners, and care-experienced young adults to shape this offer. Every element , from house setup to mentoring plans , is grounded in trauma-informed practice and a belief in second chances.
Referrals & Availability
We’re currently accepting referral enquiries for placements beginning September 2025 in:
- Corby, 1 home (3 places)
- Kettering, 1 home (3 places)
Homes available for local authorities, leaving care teams, or partner organisations.
Places are limited – early referrals advised.
